I have a Ten Tec Paragon, a Ten Tec Omni V and aTen Tec Titan amp. I cannot
overdrive the amp with
either exciter. (I can hit well over the legal limit, but
the ultimate amount of output I can get out of the amp
is limited by my 100 watts of drive) I load it to the hilt,
and then back off on the drive. This way I am assured
that the amp stays linear. To stay within the 1500 watt
limit, the Titan has a red led on the power bargraph that
comes on at the 1500 watt level, and I reduce the drive
so I don't ever see the red light.

Incidentally, with up to 15 years experience owning these
rigs, I just noticed that neither the Paragon nor the Omni V
has an ALC output even though the Titan does have an ALC
input. The thought just never occured to me to use it.
And evidently because Ten Tec didn't put an ALC output on
either exciter, they didn't think too much of it either!
