[Elecraft] K2 + External Linear, ALC Needed?

I'm no longer running any external amps but when I did, I had the ALC connected just to make sure it was not overdriven. That however, was with a 100 watt rig that was fully capable of overdriving the amp. If the K2 is not capable of generating enough power to overdrive the amp then the ALC connection is pointless. The K2 will never drive the amp hard enough to generate any ALC voltage anyway.
