When I got my K2 kit the solder I had was very old so I decided to purchase
what was recommended. It was a hard search but I found that Future
Electronics (978/779-3000) carries it. They are normally a mail order house
but since they were along my route home from work I cut a deal to pick it
up. The only catch was that their minimum order required that I buy 2
pounds. I had no problem finding another HAM to buy the extra roll.
I had no trouble using it except for cleaning toroid leads. I too prefer to
scrape them first.
