Hi

Check the wiring to the external speaker connector make sure you didn't 
reverse the hot and ground wires. If that is OK loosen the speaker hardware. 
If it is too tight it will warp the speaker frame. Press on the each side of 
the magnet to see if the sound improves. Sometimes the speaker frame gets 
warped and needs to be bent a little one way or the other so the voice coil 
does not rub on the frame.
