Greetings all,
I see keyboard CW senders being mentioned, and thought
it might be in context to mention that there are great CW keyer chips and a
keyboard sending chip available in the US of A.
The web site to look on is http://members.aol.com/k1el
Amusingly enough the keyer chips are all designated with a "K" number !! I
have a K10 chip here which is a variable speed keyer with 5 memories, and
lots of features.
I actually built up the K10 keyer before I indulged myself in Elecraft
products, but still occaisonally use it with the K1 and K2 . There is a K20
chip available that drives a standard keyboard for sending ...it has a
type ahead buffer and can be set for any speed.
Personally I find nothing wrong with the keyer in the K1 and K2, but for
those who like making gizmos that work fine in conjunction with the K1 and
K2 the web site I quote is well worth a look.
Cheers......Ron ZL1TW
