[Elecraft] Just how many in a K2?

I can't answer your question, Rick, but once while I was doing some repairs
to my Icom IC-765 a few years back and was working in the parts list, I was
foolish enough to spend the time required to count the electrical parts in
that radio - only electrical, no mechanical.
The answer was just short of 3900 with about 1000 of those being various
diodes!
So, be thankful that the K2 is nowhere as complex as the 765 to provide
"almost" the same performance in some areas and better in others.
