[Elecraft] filtering

I wold like to thank everybody for their response and specially Dave former Collins Radio designer.
Now I know that this is not just a problem with my K2.
I like my K2 very much. However we must be objective. There is a problem with filter "blow by"
when you tune off very strong signal and this takes place on CW and SSB. I consider this a major
problem,
which we should try to eliminate perhaps with help from Eric or Wayne.
To confirm what I'm stating here, one could do the following:
Remove SSB option and use signal generator or another radio as signal source. Listen to that signal
on any band
and see if you can hear it. Signal has to be S9 +20 or more. Same thing can done on CW only K2
without removing anything.
I used some copper tape and was able to eliminate"blow by" by more than 10db. In next few weeks if i
find some time I will use spectrum analyzer with tracking generator in order to check the response
of CW and SSB crystal filters and hopefully will be able to minimize this problem.
Just to clarify -I don't use Noise Blanker (not installed yet). Crystals are grounded at their base.
Beside the problem stated above, K2 is a very good radio with great receiver and I purchased mine
for dxpeditions
in order to be able to receive single station when many are calling. I could not do that with my
Icom 706.
Amazingly ,yesterday I had two QSO's with Europe using 100mW on SSB with 55 and 57 report. I was
asked to lower power
to 10mW but could not do that. That would be my personal record -Europe with 10mW. On cw I use 100mW
frequently.

Thanks again for all who responded to my posting.
