[Elecraft] Searchable PDF's

Adobe PDF maker can run from a machine readable source, like Microsoft =
Word (just print to the Adobe Distiller - it's output is a PDF) or from =
a scan, when working from printed materials. Besides being much larger, =
scanned documents cannot be searched. They are simply very large =
graphics. Distilled documents, however, are understood to be text, and =
are therefore searchable. The producer of the PDF, not the software nor =
the user determines if the resulting document can be searched. The =
Elecraft manuals, and (hurrah!) schematics are all distilled from =
machine readable source, and are therefore searchable. Thanks Wayne and =
Eric!

Dan,why do all PDFs not have this search feature? I have schematics for
my FT-817,but the Find does not work on them. Just thought you might
know.

Thanks
