No wonder folks started complaining about the need for a smart, automatic
tuning rate recently.

I have always just put my finger on the knob and twirled away. I could run
50 kHz across the band in a few seconds at the 10 Hz rate before I put the
new firmware in. Now I must slooooowly craaaawlll across the band by
comparison.

Bummer...
