Bill, there's nothing other than running a higher voltage or turning the
rear panel switch off... I use a home brew power supply that's easy to turn
up so the K2 reads 13.7 volts. Most commercial supplies can be adjusted if
you have the circuit.

How about a neat little switched mode supply, as an accessory from Elecraft?
