They can be indeed. I also used the GIMP to work out a new design for my 
QSL card. It is easy to drop in different photos to see how they look. I 
don't have the final ones for the front of my card yet. I plan on changing 
the inset photo of myself to one that shows me with my K2 instead of the 
commercial rig (which I will be selling soon).
