Dave,

I had a similar experience on K2 #1766. Here's the text of a note I sent
Gary Surrency about my troubles (from a little over a year ago) - note that
the resistance on mine was nearly the same as yours. Mine was a short on
the BANK1* line.

"Well, having cleared the BANK1* line of the 5K pot and the TPIC6B595 I
thought of a way to fix the problem. Since the short was about 4 ohms I
figured it was a very very small conductor. After a short debate with
myself about leaving a carbon track or burn, I decided that this was VERY
VERY small. So I hooked a current limited power supply to the BANK1* line
and slowly increased the voltage. The current came up to about 100mA and
then dropped to zero. 400mW is not enough power to start a fire, so I
think my decision was good. The fault is now clear. I put things back
together tonight and replaced the 1N5817 I had to sacrifice and things are
working great (passed all alignment and function tests)."
