While it's more than 30 years since I had the doubtful pleasure of sitting
at a bench for at least an hour per day having to learn Morse, I suspect the
methods haven't changed all that much.

The main problem is one of motivation, folks get stuck at two or three
stages and find progress very difficult. So probably attending a class will
help with needing to keep up with the others. Those personal Morse tutor
machines, that can be used almost anywhere, are probably worth a try too.
