[Elecraft] non-Wire antennas

Dan,

IMHO that is the correct answer!!!
The K2 will work just fine into a 1.7 SWR and should produce its rated
output of 10 watts or more. If loss is a concern - ask yourself how much 50
ohm coax do you have on that antenna system. The loss through a few feet of
coax will be very low - OTOH if the coax run is 100 feet or more and has an
SWR of 1.7 AND is on 15 meters or above, the loss may become significant.

The SWR on the ladder line is much higher than what is indicated for the 50
ohm load - but then ladder line has low losses anyway, even with a high SWR
(yes, there are exceptions - like VHF - but we are talking about the HF
bands here.

I have an idea or two. It's working, don't mess with it. What's wrong with
1.7:1 anyway on one band of a 9 band, ladder fed doublet? There's 2 1.5:1's
and a bunch lower still.
