There was some discussion several months ago on the reflector about a ceramic 
tipped tool You may want to check back in the archives. The tools were quite 
expensive as I remember around $30 per set of 4 or 5. 

I use a trimpot tool for the small coils and it works very well Bourns or 
Spectrol makes them and they are cheap.
