Holy Crap Batman!  I've still got #2490 in "kit" form going through the
inventory process, etc and you're nearly done?

Anyway, I immediately recognize your problem.  I read the errata for the
kit and added the following to the manual Appendix E, page 8, per the
errata #14:

"232	If you see INFO 232 during CALL PLL, make sure 40 m is
selected and that the counter cable is connected to test point 1 (VCO)."
