[Elecraft] K2 #2413 alive! Some questions

Hi all!

Finished K2 #2413 yesterday! This is an example that an absolute newbie
can built up his K2 with this wonderful manual! Thanks verry much!
I had soldered only about five small kits like a LED-running-light an a
VHF-radio, all with less than 20 components to solder - get some tips from
a friend (always to heaten both, the lead and the PCB), and read the
soldering tutorial of Tom, N0SS. Then I resoldered all the IC's of my
small kits without sockets several times to ensure that I am able not to
overheaten them.
And now my K2 works! Wonderful! Made only one silly mistake: soldered R44
on the bottom to the place of R4, wich is one of the uninstalled
components.
Thank you for the uninstalled components-list on page 67 (man. rev. C)!!!
Last but not least the K2 is my first rig ever, so I can not really
compare it yet. But I read many stations from NA last night (my QTH is
Bonn, Germany) with phantastic sound.
The only thing I 'missed' to make the kit absolutely complete for building
is a tape meassure printed to the manual ;-)

Nevertheless I have some questions:

1.: my K2 has a birdie at about 14171..14172 kHz. Is this usual? or did I
make some components interferencial?

2.: at least one oscillating circuite changes its frequency when I push
down the K2 a bit on its left side. The change is about 10..20Hz. The
critical location seems to be the PLL Ref. Osc. and there especially the
connection between Q19 and U4, pin 1. When I came near the soldering
joints with my finger the frequency varies some 100 Hz.

3.: What about some leads. I have not cut all of them yet. For example of
the RP's, the IC's and the relays. Should I?

mny tks es 73,

Alexander
