[Elecraft] Problem with K2 PLL ref. osc.

Greetings, all.

My K2 seems to be working properly except for what I hope is a only a minor
problem with the PLL reference oscillator.

I connect the FCtr cable to TP3 to monitor the PLL reference oscillator
frequency. Turn on the K2 and tune to 40m. Enable CAL FCtr in the menu. I
get a reading of around 12084. Hit BAND+ and the reading goes up to around
12100. So far so good.

The problem is if I then hit BAND- the reading goes down to less than 11000
(can be as low as 8000 or less). An external frequency counter shows that
the oscillator appears to have stopped (it reads 0 Hz). If I use my finger
to touch the lead of D16 closest to the edge of the RF board I can get a
reading in the 12000 range once again which seems to be correct.

Since operating the radio with my finger on one lead of D16 isn't very
practical I would like to know how I can fix this? What part(s) might be
bad or need to be changed?

Currently the frequency calibration seems to be ok. Tuning in to an 80m
net, a 40m net, and WWV on both 10, 15, and 20MHz all show up on the
correct frequencies.

Cheers!
