Yes, we did enjoy the webcam show you guys put on last night. =

Uh oh, did I forget to turn off the web cam my boys have been =
experimenting
with again? You've been looking over my shoulder haven't you.

Seriously though, what you've described is pretty much what I do, =
especially
when I feel the need to really stretch my copying speed capability. I =
was
concerned that I might get reliant on it, so I've made a conscious =
decision
to simply use it to check myself when trying to copy code being sent =
just
outside my comfort level. I believe that it's actually helped me quite =
a
bit, encouraging confidence, and improving my copying ability. =
Especially
when the band is noisy and/or it's crowded, CwGet can be pretty error =
prone,
and I've been finding that even with code sent faster than I'm =
comfortable
with, I know what the character should have been when there was an =
error.

I try real hard to look at my laptop's screen only when I really need =
to,
and in fact when I'm using the logging software I keep CwGet hidden =
behind
that.

On a side note, I've also been having fun challenging my tin ear'd self =
by
seeing just how close my tin ear can really get the tones when I'm zero
beating signals. I get it as close as I can, then check my self using
Spectrogram. At first, I was finding that I was always off a little =
(flat
on the tone), but now my ear's getting trained better and I'm really =
getting
good at "zeroing" in, usually dead on. That's not bad for a seriously =
tin
ear!
