Well everyone, I finally put K2-1999 on the air this afternoon after a
personal absence of at least 15 years from the air.

I used a dipole thrown, literally, out my back window and will have to
retrieve it soon before the condo police make their rounds.

My first four contacts were one in the UK, one in the Bahamas, and two in
Texas.  My cw is a little rough, but it's coming back and the thrill is
definitely back.

About one year ago, I had just given away all my ham gear and junk box
contents and read a review of the k1 that sparked my interest.  After some
research I decided to try a K2 but was skeptical of a 15 watt rig.  The
posts on this reflector changed my mind. (My first ham rig was a homebrew
6V6, I think, that put out 15 watts and it did fine, so what the heck.)

Anyway, the build experience was quite good and the very few questions were
quickly cleared up by  the regulars around here.  So, thank you and hope to
see you on the air.
