Wayne, since you don't say what kind of computer and software you are using 
or whether you have the KIO2 in your K2, I am guessing that you will need 
EITHER a classical modem, OR a sound card interface, plus appropriate 
connectors for both the computer and the radio.

If your computer has a sound card, and if your software can use that as the 
modem, you can use an interface directly from the radio to the sound 
card.  An example of such an interface is the SignalLink by Tigertronics, 
which connects the MIC and SPKR sound card jacks to the K2's 8-pin mic 
socket.  I have this setup and it works GREAT with the K2 for both PSK31 
and MFSK.  I am using MixW ver. 2.02 with Windows 98.

If your computer doesn't have a sound card, or if your software will only 
use a COM port, you will need an ordinary modem to connect the COM port to 
the radio.  An example of this is the BayPac BP-2M by Tigertronics.  I have 
no experience with this setup using the K2.
