[Elecraft] mic for SSB adapter

Dear All,

K2 # 2448 is almost complete! It receives well on most bands, considering 
its just got a 2oft piece of wire stuffed in the back! Just need to do the 
transmitter alignment and put the top on. Of course, now I will need to look 
for a microphone. By looking at the SSB adapter schematics, am I right in 
thinking that I can just wire in an electret insert (with bias resistor) and 
the rig will amplify it enough!? or do I need to add a preamp?
