Thanks.  I've never been able to get much from the fancy logic level
diagrams shown on some web sites to illustrate the differences.  I think
a short verbal explaination works best.

I'll always believe mode B is the work of the devil :-) .  I've never
seen any justification for it in 35 years of messing with Morse
operation.

Fortunately, Elecraft firmware supports whichever mode one likes.  The
unfortunate Yaesu FT-817 or the SWL DSW-series have only mode B
available (which is the only flaw I know of in the DSW-series).
