There definitely was a prototype at Dayton 2001.  I saw (touched, 
looked...) it.  If memory serves me, there's a picture still up on the 
Elecraft site.  Look for the photo of the Heil mic.  Look closely at the 
K2 in the background.... it has a heat sink on top in place of the 
"standard" cover.  All of the amp electronics fit under a new heat sink 
top.

At least that's the way it was May '01.  A lot can change in 9 months.....

I think there was a prototype amp at Dayton *last* year.  I'm hoping 
they will be selling them at Dayton *this* year :-)
