[Elecraft] k1 introductory questions

Well, got k2 #1982 before thanksgiving and fell in love with it.  I am now
curious about the k1.

I would like a short description of its operation please.  I haven't fought
the battle with the pdf yet.  They do not always convert well to speech for
reading by a blind op.

The k2 manual took three months to clean up and read.  

Anyhow, I ramble.  Experiences, and descriptions of operating the k1 would
be very useful, while I contemplate the uses of the projected tax refund.
