Hello Fellow Elecrafters,

Haven't had this much fun in the hobby for years. I don't miss Heathkit's
non-availability as much now. This has got to be one of the best looking and
well designed and out together H/R kits, I have had the privilege of
building. Most of my gear has been home brew from scratch (AM/CW) and many
Heathkits over the years since back in the '50s. I broke down and purchased
a Ten Tec Omni C back in '82 to try SSB, which I still love and use today
(it's a CW operator's rig still in the running). Not only is the K1 a great
package, but I find it extremely enjoyable to operate. It is not lacking in
any way for my CW needs and it is a natural for veteran Omni operators. I
have had several great QSO's on 40, 30, & 15 meters. Now, to get it on 20!
Keeping it at QRP, 5.0 watts out, I have been very happy with the reports
using a 40 M Delta Loop. Next to try a random wire and mobile antenna in
portable operation.

Many thanks to Lisa and the staff for the prompt service, and to Gary for
taking care of my "Cockpit" problem when I was fuzzed out from working on
the kit much too long at a time. (well it was just too much fun to put it
down) ;-) The KAT1 next??? (I'm having withdrawals) Hi!

I have enjoyed reading the "Technical" threads on this news group and hope
to be of some value to future K1 questions/problems. Enough said.
