Hi Tom,
When I first tested my K1 4 band module - last night! I was disturbed and
dismayed to find no output on any band (p0.1) although I had aligned OK on
RX.
After spending some time poking around and finding nothing wrong, I fiddled
with the trimmer caps in reverse order and found that I got some power
output on each band when I adjusted CH CD CB and CF first. Once I had power,
I then continued to peak up in the order stated in the manual - eg pre-mixer
first then RF stage next.
The CH CD CB and CF caps were very broad tuning on RX, but highly sensitive
on TX for some reason.
I also had another panic last night - once I fitted the board I found the
bands were dead except for a faint SSB and a CW station on 7Mhz. At first I
thought I had done something to make the rig deaf, until I checked with
another rig - it was the bands that were dead, not a deaf rig.
This morning the bands were completely alive with activity. Presumably the
UFO's were out last night ;-)
HTH
Regards,
Tony
