It's time to brag again. My Christmas present this year from the lovely
KB4TGE was a KSB2 for my K2. The kit went together in just a few hours
the day after Christmas (how's that for having patience), and worked
perfectly on first power up. I didn't get it on the air until this
afternoon after buying and modifying a Radio Shack hand mic. First QSOs
report excellent sound, even with the fine carrier null adjustment yet
to be done. I am already amazed at the signal reports on only 10 watts,
even though I was used to good reports on CW. So, once again another
Electraft kit goes together with absolutely no problems!

One thing for discussion is the carrier null adjustment. The manual
says to attach a microphone, press the PTT, but don't speak into the
mic. Why not just keep the mic unattached, and simply key the PTT line
using the dot key? There would be no sound input to the transceiver,
making null determination easier. What am I missing?

Now the rig is finally ready for ARRL Sweepstakes from California.
Well, maybe we will try some other contests first!
