[Elecraft] KAF2 Clock accurizing

Thought I would update my experience accurizing the KAF2 realtime clock.

Prior to accurizing, my clock was losing 0.6 seconds per day (8 seconds in
14 days).

I tacked an 11pF cap parallel with C19 on May 19, 2002.

Since then, the clock has run 16 seconds slow, for an average loss of -.07
seconds per day.

I've been measuring the clock's accuracy once a week or so... the time
series is not linear. For me, it follows a 2nd order function

         y = -.000153x^2 + 11.4435x - 213300.6

                 y = accuracy gap in seconds, vs. WWV

                 x = Excel date (Excel date for January 1, 1900 =
1;   12/24/2002 = 37614)

                 R^2 = .996, 32 observations

I guess the accelerating decline (clock falling behind faster over time) is
due to the battery aging? My shack's air temp is fairly constant...

Best wishes for the holiday season.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2            Don't say can't.                    WA4CIT
x^2 + y^2 = r^2            Say won't.                        K2 #1860
(e^iPi)^2 + 0^2 = 1^2      Say don't know how.                K1 # 85
