I accept Rons explaination as to the origin. It makes perfect sense that
people whose first or for that matter third language is greek would use
the capitol "chi" when referring to Christ.
I am sorry to have dissappointed you in not knowing that origin. I have
_never_ seen the phrase "Xmas" used in any theological context and having
grown up a ministers child and also having attended bible college myself.
As for taking offense, I simply asked if anyone knew the origin. With
such a vast audiance of "above average intellect" individuals, I expected
that someone would know the origin.
I don't however consider myself a zealot.
