Gary

I have a PW-1, predecessor to the MP-1. I use the MP-1 tripod mount, an
extra base section, and have modified my tripod hub by attchcing three heavy
clip leads. I then add three steel-tape tape measures to create an instant
ground plane. Packing up is even simpler: zip! goes the retract button.
See the jpgs at http://home.nc.rr.com/kz1x/ and look at the PW1 files. Some
jpgs look better than others, ymmv.

For a portable vertical antenna, it is only beat by my Outbacker
Outreach/Outpost combo, in A/B field testing.
And, WAY easier to transport!

The Buddipole is probably better, but not for the application you cite.

Subject: [Elecraft] indoor portable antenna (mp1 or equivalent)

Took a look at the mp1 on the superantennas sight. Just wondering what, if
any, experiences the list may have had with this or a similar design.

I am looking for a portable indoor antenna, that can be put up or taken
down leaving absolutely no sign of its presence.
