Have you listened to the hash put out by hanging a wire out
the back of the K2 and running it nearby?
If you look at the ARRL review, the SS-30 had hash in 160
but was clean on the other bands. They also made the point
that the spectrum analysis was done with full loads on the
supply, and that the hash amplitude would probably be much
less on receive.
I don't think I would miss having meters, either -- with
things operating normally I wouldn't even be looking at
them.
Do you have to use anything other than a DVM to do calibration
(current) of the KPA100? If I get the SS-30 without meters,
I can always borrow a current clamp. But my guess is it just
requires a DVM.
