     I chose 40/15 for a number of reasons: 40m is my watering hole, I
hadn't done much operating on 15, I can use the same antenna for both,
both have novice segments, and I can fit a 15m antenna almost anywhere :).
You could pull a similar trick on 20/40 or 15/30 using an off center fed
(~2/3rds in) dipole cut for the lower band and then tweeked.  Given your
interest in 30, 15/30 actually sounds like a well balanced combination.
For 17/30, I'd be curious to find out how well a trap dipole would work.
