[Elecraft] K1 - external AMP - Antenna Tuner Question

Hi Mark;
The tuner is internal to the K1 so it only sees the power from the K1
and not the amp. The combination will work as long as the amp does not
need switching controls or ALC. If so you'll have to come up with a
circuit. Since it's a small amp you're using it probably does not
require any switching. You should make sure that the amp you're using
does have adequate harmonic suppression. Many of the cheaper so called
ham-band amps put out a dirty signal especially many of the 10m amps.
I would say that you're not going to see any significant signal increase
going from the K1 7W output to a 20W output. Now 50W would be
significant. Frankly I don't think it's worth it. 7W is allot of CW
power.

Subject: [Elecraft] K1 - external AMP - Antenna Tuner Question
Would there be any problem connecting the Elecraft K1 up to an External
Amp?=20
2 Watt in -> 20 Watts out? Also what is the make Watts the K1 attenna
tuner=20
can handle? Would I be able to use the 20 Watt amp with the K1 & it's=20
Antenna Tuner?
This question is kinda of topic, but I'm new to the CW world of Ham
Radio. I=20
don't think it breaks FCC rules to send an IP address during a
transmission=20
does it? Also would there be a CW shortcut when giving the IP address?
Thank you in advance for your help,
Mark KF4IXT
