I think all replies you have received assume that the report you got was
meant to be a positive comment. 

Suppose it was not, then the most likely problem could be the
sensitivity of the K2 to magnetic fields. A power supply next to the K2,
especially the left-hand side where the VCO sits, will modulate the CW
tone both in rx and tx modes. My desktop lamp is a 12 VAC lamp - IKEA -
with built-in transformer that has to be 30 cm or more away from the K2
in order not to modulate it.
