Tim-Actually, using the voice portion of WWV isn't a bad idea, especially
when you know exactly what the voice should sound like.  Often it's easier
to hear the intermodulation products that result from being off frequency by
only a few Hz when receiving voice than it is measure and/or hear the "beat
note" against the carrier.

This should amuse at least one person :-)
I wanted to recalibrate my K2/100 today. I can zero beat a regular cw
signal, but I have never been clear what it is I'm supposed to zero beat to
on WWV 10000kHz. So I said the heck with it - I'll tune the voice that comes
on every minute so it sounds right to my ears and then adjust C22. The
result: it's more accurate than I've ever had by any other method!  Amazing!
