[Elecraft] K2 Operating Tip: Effective use of the CW message buffers

I played with the message features during the 160m contest. I recorded a CQ
message and then ran message repeat. To stop repeat when a station answered,
one is suppose to hit any button or the key. The problem I had was I didn't
care to hold hand near rig to tap a button then move to key but using the
key to stop message the sidetone would cover up the first letter of the
station calling. Is there any way to get next version of firmware to mute
first dit or dah when in repeat mode? Is there another way to get around
this that I am missing?  What are the contest pros doing in this situation?
