It is #26 AWG (American Wire Gauge), Ingo, which the tables show as 
0.016 inches or 0.40mm diameter.  The nearest equivalent over here is 27 
SWG (Standard Wire Gauge).

I thought there would have been EWG (European Wire Gauge) these days ;-)
