Hi all,

I'd have to agree: back in '99 when I first heard of the K2 there was
mention of a 6m transverter that never materialised. I still think that it's
a great pity that nothing ever came of it, and while I have to admit that
there are a couple of reasonably good designs out there, a real Elecraft
transverter would have all that secret Mojo Oil working for it. A decent 6m
transverter would get my vote every time - and persuade me to part with a
little more cash too :-)
What would such a beast need? Well, at least 5W output, a really tight input
filter (500kHz wide), and a good high-lever double-balanced mixer in the RX
chain to start with. Then add another high-level mixer to the TX chain and
include some form of QSK switching.
