[Elecraft] $ 10 grill cloth

Hi

As I was the one that started the grill cloth addition to the K radios I
guess I should say something. The first piece of cloth I bought from Radio
Shack was speaker cloth and cost $10 for a 39"x36" square. After cutting 3"
squares for my K1 and 2 K2's I liked the results so much I decided to offer
the remaining cloth to anyone with a K radio for the cost of a stamp. The
response was so good that I ended up buying 3 more square yards of the
cloth. I sent out over 300 of the kits with instructions. A few people sent
a $1 donation so it ended up offsetting the cost of the cloth. Eric and
Wayne found a better cloth that is easier to install using only the mounting
screws (my cloth needs to be glued to the top cover). I am sure the Elecraft
cloth has much more MoJo than the cloth I was supplying and I am glad they
are supplying it now. Maybe I should start making the kits again, I could
charge $8.99 then I would have plenty of beer
money ;-)
