[Elecraft] K2 Headphones??

Bill,

Well...this is a pretty subjective thing but, being budget-minded (read 
"cheap"), I use the Warren Gregoire headphones advertised in QST for 30 
bucks. They are large (too bulky for backpacking, IMO) but lightweight and 
comfortable, and they shut out the ambient noise quite well. After 
operating with them for a couple of hours, I don't feel like my head has 
been in a vise. They go together easily from a kit, and a boom mic is also 
provided. I did not install the mic, because I operate mostly CW. I am very 
pleased with them, and doubt that spending a lot more money would have 
resulted in a proportionally huge increase in performance. For portable 
use, I use a pair of Sony Walkman-type phones. They are compact, but I 
don't like the sound quality nearly as well as with the Gregoire phones.

You will probably get a lot of opinions on this topic--it comes up 
periodically. Hope this helps a little.
