1976, only slash mobile. portable, one or two others which I forget were
legal. In fact if you were mobile and then parked on the side of the road
one would have to sign portable to stay legal. Things like mobile in
motion or (interesting) airborne mobile were a no-no. If the law changed
fine, I don't memorize the new reg book every year. Doesn't seem to matter
everybody does what they please on the air anyway, the FCC has spent a
long time doing nothing, although lately they seem to be finally going
after malicious interference. What I always though was a real joke was
the ARRL OO's. That's probably who turned me in. He was a real
character who felt that if you did anything a bit different(like QRP) it warranted
an OO reprimand.
