Hi Leo,
You're right: noone really emphases ERP (effective radiated power) when
discussing the QRP/QRO tradeoffs. I think this is because, culturally, it's much
more complicated.
Many QRPers pride themselves on using low power for various reasons
(challenging, efficient, simple gear, environmentally responsible, etc.). For
such ops, a great antenna is icing on the cake.
Similarly, QRO folks (those who don't even dabble in QRP) often just want 100+
watts no matter what. And of course they, too, want big antennas....
