Congratulations John! I've been watching your progress while dreading doing
these mods myself.  You've provided encouragement!!

Under what conditions are you running the audio so low?  CW/SSB?  What
filter width?  AF Filter on/off?  Did you make any Spectrogram measurements
before/after?
