The time period in the rules does not encourage maximizing QSO's - any 
consecutive four hours between 6PM and 6AM local time.  I've sent the 
following recommendation to Randy for next year:

We should all be on for the same time period.  Almost all participation 
will be from US, so the four hours should have the entire country in 
darkness.  Thursday will be a work day for most participants (but not 
for me being recently retired :-), so the sprint should end as early as 
possible to enable participants to get some sleep.  The sun will be down 
on the west coast by 7PM local.

 From that criteria, I recommended 0300Z to 0700Z (still Wed night by 
everyone's local time, but Thursday going by UTC).
In other words:
			7PM PST
			8PM MST
			9PM CST
		       10PM EST

I will be looking for QSO's from 10PM my local time for four hours (or 
until I fall asleep from boredom).  :-)
