[Elecraft] Dreaming...a challenge for the Elecraft team (fwd)

I think the point that Eddi was making was that until now, if you said you
were running a K2, people would know you were using a QRP rig. Now, they
don't.
I think there are many of us who choose to operate low power, all the time,
not just as a fun thing when conditions are good, to whom this distinction
is important. When, a few months ago, I downsized to just one radio, I sold
my IC-756PRO because I felt that no-one would understand why I would have
such a radio and yet run it at only 5 or 10 watts. But I still miss the
beautiful receive audio quality and the ability to work 10 FM. I will
always be reluctant to part with my K2 because it is a fine radio and I
built it myself, but now there's Ten-Tec's Argonaut V, which is and always
will be a low power rig...

Flawed? I suppose you're entitled to your opinion. I operate my K2/100
more than I ever operated my QRP K2 though and it has not detracted from
the rig one bit. I always remember to include the /100 when describing
the rig to other operators.
I think that a QROoooo option from Elecraft would be very nice. If you
don't want to operate your K2 QRO, you don't have to. Don't think for a
minute that the addition of the KPA100 to the list of available K2 options
has in any way shape or form tarnished the reputation of Elecraft or the
K2 though.
