I would like to see it put out 1500w and cover 6M. Use a switching supply to
save weight. Don't need a lot of meters - look at the Acom 2000a - lots of
functions to check and monitor in a small space with their RCU. Of course it
needs a carrying handle. How about a black box with an On/Off switch and a
plug in control head?
Am I dreaming?

I still haven't fixed my 800 watt amplifier because I enjoy using my K2/100
and
KAT100 combination so much. Which gives me a product idea:
The KPA1000.
A high power 1.8-30 MHz amplifier kit (using FET's at 120v), producing 1000
watts output on CW or SSB with reasonable drive (50-65 watts).
Has a built-in automatic tuner, whose controller is capable of storing a
reasonable number (say, 64) of presets. Each preset includes filter and
tuner
parameters and the selection of one of four antenna outputs. When the
amplifier
is used with a non-elecraft rig, the operator manually chooses between
presets.
When used with a K2/100 or K3, the proper preset is chosen depending on the
frequency and antenna selection set by the exciter.
The usual bulletproof Elecraft quality. Price: $1595 including power
supply.
I think it's possible, both technically and commercially.
