I've had email from several elecraft users with questions about the
operating time limits on the new Spectrogram version 7 software. This note
is an attempt to clarify the situation and prevent any confusion.
There are two demonstration versions of Spectrogram with different time
restrictions. The old version 6 is limited to 10 minutes of operation each
time it is used. Version 7 has this same 10 minute limitation but also has
a calendar day time limit. After the calendar day limit has expired,
version 7 cannot be used again. Of course, shareware registration will
remove these limitations from version 6 and 7.
A sizeable group of people has preferred to continue to use version 6
without shareware registration. This is a good option for those who don't
mind the 10 minute time limit and don't wish to pay the shareware fee.
If you have tried version 7 but would like to go back to version 6, you
should first remove all version 7 files from your computer. Then download
the version 6 files from
http://www.visualizationsoftware.com/gram/programs/gram6.zip. Unzip this
file and copy the contents to any directory on your hard drive. Then run
gram6.exe to start Spectrogram version 6.
Also, many people continue to use Spectrogram version 5 which is freeware
and has no operating time limits at all. You can download Spectrogram
version 5 from

For all spectrogram users, whether registered or not, thank you very much
for your support of this program over the years.
