[Elecraft] American Airlines headset

Recently, American Airlines has decided to sell their passenger
entertainment headsets for $2 as opposed to passing them out and collecting
them again.  They even encourage you to do so, as they can be used again on
future flights.  (In first class, the headsets are complimentary.)
These are not the acoustic-tube sets found on many aircraft, but
"almost-regular" stereo headphones.

These headsets have a single (as opposed to two-wire style) short and
durable cord, an adjustable head clamp, and a 1/8" stereo plug.  The
earpieces, which are about 300 ohms DC resistance each, are covered in a
wide foam-type cushion allowing for some extraneous noise attenuation but
which still allow you to hear 'external' sounds.  The
restricted-acoustic-frequency-range earpieces turn 90 degrees longitudinally
on their pivot mount, so they can fold flat for storage.

Why am I sharing this?  Simple!  These things make GREAT portable headphones
for ham use!
 If you (or someone you know) has occasion to ride on American Airlines,
make sure you get a pair of these for your shack.  Since they fold flat, are
sensitive, cost only two bucks, and have high and low frequency rolloff ...
what more could you want?   I now have a set in both my K2 and K1 'kit'
bags.
