Jim,

I too have an MFJ-4125 that produces hash.  Have heard it mostly on 80m.
There is no doubt that it is there.  If I run the rig (an old Icom 707) off
a battery -- quiet as can be -- but hook up the 4125 and tons of noise --
about S3 as I recall.  Throughout the band (at least the portion that I
use).  Some noise on other bands but not nearly so much.
